List of best places for cheap groceries

1. My favorite place to shop in the denver metro area is:
The Friday Store in Arvada
They are a discount bump/dent nearly or expired food store
Great prices!!!!
This place has greatly helped my food budget.

2. Sunflower/Sprouts
Multiple Locations throughout the Denver Metro Area
I only shop their sales, which is easy because I make a day/half day of shopping, hit the Friday store 1st with my list of whats on sale at all the other stores. Then shoot up Wadsworth to the one up off 80th, then go up another block to the King Soopers and Safeway. They are all right next to each other so hitting all of them for just sales/clearance is easy and very cost effective.

3. King Soopers
I love their sales so many buy 4 get them for $0.99 each on items that are normally $4 each so basically it's buy one get 3 free. Plus all the time they run specials for 10/$10, Oh and I love their weekend Specials Friday, Saturday and Sunday Sometimes it's just Friday extra special sales.
It's also worth showing up early and hitting up all the clearance areas,
They have one in each of these depts at most stores:
1. Deli,
2. Meat (raw),
3. Meat
(prepared like hotdogs and lunch meats),
4.Dairy
(can find lots of organics on discount frequently which makes them cheaper than non-organic), 5.Bakery/Grocery
(This area is sometimes hard to find if you don't know where to look, It's always next to door that lead to the stocking area, sometime where the bathrooms are) Great place to find the canned/boxed food with dents/rips in packaging at half price
6. Freezer (these sometimes have a section and are also mixed in with the other items, look for orange stickers that say, discountinued/reduced/quick sale etc)

4. Safeway
I mainly only hit the sales here too.
They have all the same clearance areas like King Soopers

5. Albertsons
Love to shop here, wish they weren't so far.
They almost weekly have a Meat special for a particular item that is Buy 1 Get 2 FREE
They also have clearance sections too, and buy 8/$8, lots of Buy 1 Get 1 Free sales.

6. Whole Foods
I only shop the clearance and sale items. In general I can't afford to shop here but it's on my way to the other stores so I stop in and only hit the good sales/ clearance. And you can normally find quite a few.

7. Vitamin Cottage
Another one of those that I can't buy to much, I stick only to the sales and clearance items, but they do have some wonderful sale items. Like their good juices are frequently on sale for half off and good competitive prices on the sale organics for that week. And they also have a clearance area.

8. Save-A-Lot
I don't shop here to much because it's out of the way of my house. But they do have some great sales and prices. Great 5 for $20 sales on items that are normally $5 each.

9. Avanza
Only one that I know of and it's up off Pecos at Hwy 36
They have amazing specials on produce weekly and cheese all the time. If you've never shopped here you should check it out. I personally wont buy any meat there, it just never looks to good.
But produce prices make it worth the trip, also cheap, beans, rice, flour, pasta!!

10. Alco
Some good sales

11. Walgreens
Know it sounds funny, but yes they have a small grocery section and are constantly doing great regular weekly sales, coupon sales and clearance items. Great for those snack items etc.
